With Tumblr being the go-to place for fashion and fitness inspiration, we understand there are thousands of Tumblr’s to choose from so finding the best one’s in terms of information and fashion inspiration could pose a bit of a challenge. We thought we’d help you out and create a list of the top 5 Tumblr’s for black women. Check it out below.

1. Black Girls Killing It

If you’re a fashionista, take my advice and add this fashion Tumblr to your dashboard. When I came across this site, my life changed. Yes, it’s that serious. From celebrities to your girl next-door, everyday ‘Black Girls Killing It’ is updated with different women killin’ the fashion game.  You can even submit your own photos to the site for your chance to show your fashion sense. What I love most about it is that it’s created by a black man. Yesssss! Kudos to Neil! Check it out on Facebook

“BGKI happened just by chance. I love black women, they need to be highlighted more everywhere and I was posting daily photos for close to a year. The blog was named “neil alvin” then it dawned on me, who the hell is Neil Alvin? No-one’s going to google that, so I came up with a shortlist of about five names and I asked my following at the time, which name were they drawn to and you know the rest of that story.”

2. Ebony Magazine

Ebony magazine takes us back in time by using their Tumblr to publish classic Ebony covers and advertisements from their archives. This is the place to see women such as Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne and Diahann Carroll when they were household names and making headlines across the nation. It’s also interesting to see  how companies marketed their products to African Americans back then with the retro ads from the 60′s and 70′s.

3.Black Fitness

If you enjoy seeing people with six pack abs and bulging biceps posing in bikinis and biker shorts, this one’s for you. Black Fitness uses more of the “a picture is worth a thousand words” approach to inspire you to stay in the gym. You’ll find men and women showing off their sculpted bodies and even few of them in their birthday suits. Use it as inspiration to stay on your fitness grind.

4. Black Girl Slim

The creator of Black Girl Slim takes you on a weekly journey in her mission to stay fit by posting healthy recipes, fitness tips & photos. With several before & after pics of other women on fitness journeys of their own, this Tumblr will definitely help you stay motivated on yours. The best thing about this Tumblr is that it doesn’t just post photos of healthy meals, you actually get the entire recipe. Love it.

5. Natural Hair Everything

If you’re a natural, you’ll love this Tumblr. It’s mainly updated with women rockin’ natural hairstyles, but you can also find recipes for natural hair products and some bohemian style inspiration here-and-there.
